Bel Canto Can Belto is a three day vocal intensive designed to acquaint singers and voice teachers with the
techniques specific to singing for musical theatre, including the still controversial style called belting.
Topics covered include: identifying the sounds currently heard on Broadway, how these sounds are produced,
differences and similarities between male and female vocal technique, how to make appropriate vocal choices for
musical theatre repertoire, how to keep musical theatre voices healthy, how to teach sounds you might not be able
to make yourself. All participants have an opportunity to "try out" these sounds themselves in a supportive environment.
